Submissions

There will be two kinds of submissions. To ensure the scientific profile pursuit by academia, authors are invited to submit full papers to be included in the proceedings of the conference. It is expected that the proceedings will be published in a book format by Springer. On the other hand, to promote the participation of industry, authors can also submit an extended abstract of 2 pages. The best contributions, of both types, will be invited to prepare a submission to one of the special issues that are planned.
In a first stage, there will be a common call of abstract, after which, authors are invited to select the kind of publication that they prefer. All abstracts will be published in the UCL website.
UCL Press will host a special issue in the Open Access journal, UCL Open: Environment, with the selected contributions of the conference. Moreover, others recognized journals in the field will be contacted to host a special issue.

Special Sessions

We are excited to invite the scientific community to propose Special Sessions for our upcoming conference. This is a unique opportunity to showcase emerging topics, foster meaningful discussions, and bring fresh perspectives to the forefront of ICMB25. If you have a research area or theme you believe deserves focused attention and could inspire deeper exploration, we would love to hear from you! Accepted sessions will become part of the main program, offering a dedicated platform for impactful ideas and collaboration. We look forward to your proposals and to the enriching conversations they will spark.

Please send the session title, convenors’ names, and a brief description (max 2000 characters) to icmb25@civil.uminho.pt. The deadline for submitting special session proposals is November 15, 2024.

Young Presenter Award

To encourage the participation of young researchers, we are excited to announce the introduction of the Young Presenter Award at ICMB 25. This award is designed to recognize the outstanding contributions of PhD students who are enrolled in the conference and have submitted and presented a full paper as the first author. A jury will be nominated to evaluate and vote for the award winner based on the quality and impact of their presentation. The winner will be announced during the closing session of the conference and will receive a voucher for free participation in the next ICMB conference (ICMB 27) along with a certificate recognizing their achievement. This initiative aims to stimulate and reward the innovative work of emerging scholars in the field of moisture in buildings.
